It’s Time to Reevaluate “Backbone” Technology in Healthcare

Healthcare moves fast. Lifesaving decisions often are made in seconds, with the information providers have at hand. Other times, there’s more time to evaluate a patient’s history, current care plan and more data to map out the best possible outcome.

That’s when having the right tools is essential. One of those is data, which is the backbone of providing appropriate, accurate care. Caregivers need accurate, up-to-date information to create the best strategies. When that information is safely and securely received from outside the facility, and is then delivered quickly and accurately into workflows, it’s a win-win for provider and patient alike.

At the same time, that data can play a role in the future of healthcare. Artificial intelligence, or AI, is on the rise in this area as in so many others. Predictive analytics are allowing providers to see not only a patient’s current status, but also make recommendations based on what the data is telling them might be the best course of action based on many other factors.

Concord Technologies has authored a look at how healthcare and technology continue to intersect, and how the benefits can continue to mount if data is an accessible, complementary tool supporting the human element of care. When the best data is at the fingertips of providers, they can make the best, most informed decisions. It’s just that simple.
